It's a good shopping mall, comfortable environment to be in during hot days. Big W, woolies are great.
The first time I went to the Bega Mall (the Saphire Marketplace as it is known on the doors), I went for a browse in Big W and got lost. For a town of less than 10, 000 people, it's huge. Pretty much everything you could want is there, the range is that extensive.The mall itself is light and open, with plenty of seating so you can gather your bearings between shops without being in anyone's way. It has nice views of the park outside, of which you can sit just outside the Caf at the back and watch people do their thing. The cleaning staff ensure the place is in top condition, so the bathrooms, both inside and in the underground carpark, are spotless all day long.Shopping wise, there are more clothes you can poke a stick at, a massage parlor, two cafes, a pharmacy, Big W, Woolworths, a Telstra shop, a Specsavers, a fantastic jeweller and a few other things I've forgotten about.Add far as parking goes, there's about four to choose from - two bordering the park out the back which you can get to via Gipps Street, one huge one underground you can find on Auckland Street, and one on the roof accessed via Upper Street.Despite all these things, there's are still large spaces available for any aspiring businesses looking for a decent crowd in a central location. The shopping centre really is the centre of shopping in Bega.
